Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1st, 1994 in Canda, . His mother, Patricia Lynn Mallette, gave birth to him when she was only 18 years old. She raised Justin as a single mom, and he was raised in low-income housing. Justin has still maintained contact with his father, though. His father has married another woman and had to kids, so this left a hard life for Justin to live.
During Justin’s childhood he was interested in hockey, soccer, and chess. He kept his musical talent to himself mostly, but as he grew he taught himself to play the piano, guitar, drums, and trumpet by himself. When Justin was 12, he entered a singing competition and placed 2nd. This performance was the first video that his mom had posted on YouTube for his family and friends to see. After this, she continued to post videos of him singing on their and his population for the videos grew and grew.
He was discovered by Scooter Braun who happened to come across some of his videos on YouTube. Braun then became his manager, and arranged for Justin to meet Usher in Atlanta, Georgia. After their meeting, Justin decided to sign with RBMG. This group is a mix between Braun and Usher. He also got a recording contract with Island Records. This is what started his whole phenomenon!
